Today is Mahatma Gandhi's birth anniversary. For India, he is the father of the nation, and it would be worthwhile to recollect a few of his thoughts.

They continue to draw inspiration even today. Just recently, Barack Obama quoted the following quote by the Mahatma - "Intolerance is itself a form of violence and an obstacle to the growth of a true democratic spirit."

This was in the aftermath of the violence against the US establishments across the world, after a disgusting video was circulated, drawing anger from Muslim folks across the world.
